Ecotech supplies a wide range of mercury monitors for applications which include ambient air monitoring, process monitoring and emissions monitoring. We are distributors of mercury monitors from Opsis (Sweden), Arizona Instrument (USA) and Mercury Instruments (Germany).
Each company offers a unique solution designed to solve individual applications.
Ecotech is Australia's only total gaseous mercury calibration facility, Calibrating insturments from 10μg/m3 to 150μg/m3 with and true accuracy of 1.4%. Ecotech is able to calibrate a wide variety of mercury instruments, from hand held sensors to full analytical bench top instruments. Ecotech's mercury calibrations are N.I.S.T. traceable.
Mercury Monitoring System MMS-NG
Mercury Monitoring System for Natural Gas
Mercury Instruments has engineered a system for automatic and continuous monitoring of mercury levels in natural gas and other flammable gases. We install the mercury analyzer (and accessories such as a calibrator) in a pressurized enclosure that is approved for use even in hazardous zones (ATEX, EExP). A heated system takes the sample and guides it to the analyzer via stainless steel tubing that has been surface-treated for ultra-low adsorptivity. A built-in gas sensor will shut the system down and stop the sample gas flow if any leakage is detected.
Features
- Automatic and Continuous Operation
- Fast and Reliable Results
- Detects Elemental and Bound Mercury
- Automatic Calibration
- Sample Point Multiplexer
- Sample Dilution for High Concentrations
- No Carrier Gases Required
- Certified for Hazardous Zones
Other applications
- Monitoring of mercury in:
- Chloro-alkali plants with mercury cells
- Metallurgical industry
- Flourescent lamp production or recycling
- Battery recycling plants
- Contaminated sites
- Hydrogen industry

UT 3000 Mercury Ultratracer
|
Mercury is a frequent constituent of natural gas. It can be found in concentrations from a few µg/m³ up to >10000 µg/m³. An important application for the UT-3000 is the measurement of mercury in natural gas and liquefied natural gas (LNG). A special version of the UT-3000 analyser is dedicated for measurement of mercury in natural gas. Both a manual system using the Tedlar® Bag Technique as well as an automatic system for on-line installations are available.

 |
The UT-3000 Mercury UltraTracer provides a compact and reliable tool for measuring mercury in gases at ultra trace levels. Utilizing the high performance GoldTrap amalgamation module and an optimized state-of-the-art AA-mercury vapor detector the UT-3000 UltraTracer offers detection limits at sub-ng/m³ (ppq-parts per quadrillion) levels

PA-2 Mercury in Water Process Analyzer
|
Continuous Detection of Mercury in Water and Aqueous Solutions
The mercury process analyzer PA-2 is used for continuous monitoring of mercury concentrations in industrial processes. Applications include effluent and quality control in chlorine-alkali plants, monitoring of scrubber water of waste incinerators and power plants, control of industrial sewage and purification plants, quality control of sulphuric acid, drinking water. Special version also for concentrated caustic solutions (NaOH, KOH)
The detection of mercury contained in the sample occurs in an optical cell made of fused silica (Suprasil). In a first step mercury is reduced to the elementary state by means of tin(II)chloride or NaBH4. Subsequently mercury is stripped from the aqueous phase with an air stream and carried into the optical cell. Here the UV absorption measurement is conducted at a wavelength of 253,7 nm.

This analytical technique called "cold vapor atomic absorption spectroscopy (CVAAS)" shows extreme sensitivity and selectivity. It has been reliable and proven for many years. In contrast to the occasionally recommended atomic fluorescence method the analytical technique utilized by the PA-2 is extremely low in interference and does not require an amalgamation step nor expensive noble gas as a carrier.
Features
