Personal Particulate Monitors

Ecotech distributes a versatile range of personal aerosol monitors and samplers, ranging from the Met One range of particle counters to the Magee black carbon monitor through to the MSP Personal Speciation Sampler.

Met One Hand Held Particle counters Model 321, 521 & 526

This series of particle counters are battery operated, portable laser particle counter that provides the functionality of a bench unit with the convenience of a handheld! It can datalog particle counts continuously or send them to a network.

3 versions are available

GT321 Single Channel Counter

Single channel counter that allows you to choose from 0.3,0.5, 1.0, 2.0 or 5.0 microns

Aerocet 531 Particle Mass Profiler and Counter

The Aerocet 531 is a small, handheld, battery operated, and completely portable unit. This unit provides both particle counts or mass PM measurements as stored datalogged values, real-time networked data, or printed results.

All five important mass size ranges (PM1, PM2.5, PM7, PM10, and TSP) are displayed in mass mode as The particle counts from eight size ranges are converted to mass using a proprietary algorithm for typical-density aerosols. Accommodation for special particulate with different densities is provided through user–programmable "K–factors."well as two popular cumulative particle sizes (> 0.5 and > 5.0 microns) in particle mode.

Magee AE51 Portable Black Carbon Monitor

The Magee AE51 provides real time data on ambient pollution concentrations in urban environments, because the majority of pollution in urban areas is due to diesel particulates and burning of fossil fuels, which contain large proportions of black carbon, the AE51 provides an excellent tool for determing localised sources of pollution.

Magee microAeth Model AE51 is the world's first ever real-time, pocket-sized Black Carbon aerosol monitor. The instrument can be placed virtually anywhere and provide real-time information about the concentration of black carbon in the atmosphere.

The instrument can operate continuously for up to 24 hours on a single battery charge. An external back up battery option is available for longer run times. The air sample is collected and analyzed within the microAeth instrument on T60 (Teflon coated glass fiber) filter media. The filter media is constructed within a filter ticket form for easy handling and secure placement into the instrument. The filter tickets can be uniquely marked for archiving purposes and / or subsequent analysis.

Application: Environmental Monitoring, personnel pollution monitoring.

MSP M240 Personal Micro-Environmental Aerosol Speciation Sampler

M240 is a Personal Micro-environmental Aerosol Speciation Sampler (PMASS™). It is a compact sampler with a miniaturized, sharp-cut cyclone inlet and two parallel collection channels. Each channel accommodates a denuder and two tandem filters for complete, artifact-free evaluation of the chemical composition of particles below 2.5 µm diameter. The PMASS™ is light and small enough to be worn by a person. Field tests yield results equivalent to that of conventional samplers. The device may also be used with a desktop sampling station for sampling in a microenvironment.

Applications:

  • Evaluation of personal exposures to PM2.5 mass, nitrates,
    sulfates, organic and elemental carbon.
  • Evaluation of personal exposure to metal aerosols
  • Studies of personal exposure in various environments.
  • Personal sampling and stationary Micro-environmental sampling.

MSP M200 PEM Personal Environmental Monitor

M200 PERSONAL ENVIRONMENTAL MONITORS (PEM™) are small, light-weight personal samplers comprised of a single-stage impactor followed by a 37 mm filter to collect particle samples from the ambient air. Impactor cut-size diameters of 2.5 µm and 10 µm are available for sampling at 2, 4, or 10 L/min for personal PM2.5 and PM10 sampling. The PEM can be operated with personal sampling pumps for personal PM2.5 and PM10 exposure studies.
