Dekati DMM Mass Monitor

DMM, Dekati® Mass Monitor, is a real-time instrument for diesel and gasoline vehicle PM (Particulate Matter) emission measurements. Used either with a tailpipe sampling system or existing CVS tunnel it provides second-by-second information about vehicle PM mass emission. Since the instrument is intended for daily routine usage special attention has been paid for usability issues. Ease of use, reliability and integration to test cell information and data logging systems have not compromised the accuracy and sensitivity of this system. DMM is developed so that the detection limit is as low as 1 µg/m3, time response 2-3 seconds and repeatability is better than with gravimetric measurement.

Application: Automative

DMM is designed for automotive PM emission measurements, and in this field it can be used for all development and routine measurement purposes.

  • After treatment device development – simultaneous tailpipe measurement, upstream and downstream of catalyst or DPF for real-time efficiency measurements
  • Engine development and ECU tuning – see the results immediately
  • Raw exhaust or CVS tunnel measurements, steady state, transient and on-board testing

Dekati DEED Engine Exhaust Diluter

DEED is an all new PMP-conform engine exhaust conditioning system. In contrast to multi-stage dilution systems in general, DEED is a simple, easy-to-use system that conditions the sample precisely and in a repeatable manner every time. DEED fulfills all requirements and recommendations of the upcoming exhaust fine-particle measurement legislation (PMP).

The main design criteria of the DEED have been utmost simplicity, ease of use and reliability. It is extremely easy to operate: switch on, warm up and go! No special user training is required to operate the system.

One of the other ideas kept in mind during the design of the DEED has been to minimise particle retention inside the system. This directly leads to less service needs and minimum instrument downtime.

Dekati DGI-1570 Gravimetric Impactor

DGI-1570 (Dekati® Gravimetric Impactor) is a cascade impactor designed for measuring particle size distribution from engine exhaust. It is a gravimetric impactor which can replace a standard filter holder and is therefore easy to add to existing emission measurement systems.

In DGI the size classified particles are collected on Ø47 mm substrates and analysed gravimetrically or chemically after the measurement. The nominal sample flow rate is 70 lpm which enables high sample yield even during short periods.

In standard setup the DGI size classifies particles into 5 size fractions with stage cutpoints of 2.5, 1.0, 0.5 and 0.2 µm. In modified setup two lowest stages are removed and the backup filter collects particles smaller than 1 µm. The backup filter size is 70 mm in diameter.

Dekati Cyclone

The Dekati® Cyclone is an EPA-standard cyclone for removal of large particles (10um) from a sample stream. The cyclone can be used in high temperatures (600 deg C) due to the all-stainless steel construction.

Manufactured according to EPA standard 201A, with standard isokinetic nozzles available as accessories, the Dekati® cyclone is a highly durable addition to any sampling line where removal of large particles is needed. The cyclone can also be used in an out-stack configuration with heaters, also available from Dekati as accessories.

The cyclone is provided with an excel-sheet, which can be used to easily calculate the cyclone cut-point in operating conditions according to the EPA standard 201A.

Application: Manual Stack Testing

The Dekati® Cyclone can be used in any application, where particles larger than 10µm need to be removed. The main application for cyclones is in stationary source measurements, where the concentration of large particles in the flue gas may be very high. With the Dekati® cyclone, these particles can be efficiently removed to protect the measurement instruments and to avoid contamination of the sample line.
