HF Monitoring Solutions

Whether monitoring for ambient, emission or process reasons Ecotech has a HF monitoring solution that will meet your requirements.

Ecotech is delighted to be able to offer the widest variety of solutions for HF monitoring, be it for ambient, emissions or process monitoring.

We are also pleased to introduce you to the Los Gastos Research high precision range of instruments.

Listed below is a selection of our products and services that you may find of interest for ambient air monitoring.

Los Gatos Research HF Monitoring

LGR's Hydrogen Flouride Analyser (HFA) provides sensitive measurement of HF in ambient air or in industrial process flows with extremely high precision and sensitivity. No longer do you have to spend a lot of money or wait a long time to measure HF with extremely high sensitivity.

LGR Technique

LGR's HF Analyzer provides measurements every second with ppb-level precision. In addition, the HFA can report measurements quickly over a very wide range of HF mole fractions.

The instrument, based on LGR's cavity enhanced laser absorption spectroscopy, is extremely simple to use, inexpensive to operate, and includes all components (internal vacuum pump, keyboard, mouse, video monitor) to start recording data within minutes. The instrument includes an internal computer that can store data practically indefinitely on its internal hard drive (for unattended long-term operation), and that can send real-time data to a data logger through its analog and digital (RS232 serial) outputs. In addition, an Ethernet connection allows remote access to data files stored on the instrument’s hard drive. LGR's Hydrogen Fluoride Analyzer provides the high quality data necessary for the most demanding trace gas monitoring applications.

Other atmospheric gases, including water vapor, carbon dioxide, oxygen, and methane, do not interfere with the HF measurements.

The analyzer uses LGR’s patented Off-axis ICOS technology, the fourth-generation cavity enhanced absorption technique, which employs a high-finesse optical cavity as the measurement cell.

LGR’s technology has many proven advantages over conventional first-generation cavity ringdown spectroscopy (CRDS) techniques. In brief, since the laser beam does not have to be resonantly coupled to the measurement cell (i.e. precise beam alignment is not critical), LGR Analyzers are relatively inexpensive, simple to build, and inherently robust thermally and mechanically.

In addition, since LGR’s technology can record reliable absorption spectra over a far wider range of optical depths (absorbance values) compared with CRDS, LGR Analyzers provide measurements over a much wider range of mixing ratios (gas concentrations). Finally, due to the ease and simplicity of recording and quantifying the measured spectra using LGR’s Off-Axis ICOS, LGR Analyzers display the entire absorption spectra to the user in real time allowing for immediate system diagnostics and performance validation.

Opsis Open Path HF Air Quality Monitoring System

Opsis systems utilise optical measurements because the technique is flexible and provides rapid measurements that allow the quantification of several gases simultaneously with great reliability. Opsis products uses the DOAS (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy) technique. opsis schematic ambient

DOAS Technique

In a DOAS system, an emitter projects a beam of light to a receiver. In an ambient application the light beam crosses a an open path from the emitter to the receiver which may be up to several kms across. The light is transferred to the Opsis analyser through a fibre optic cable. Here, specific gases will absorb light from known parts of the spectrum, both in the UV, visible and IR wavelength ranges. The absorption is recorded by using a computer-controlled spectrometer. The computer also registers results for immediate display or future analysis.

The Opsis data, together with other information, is stored in the analyser and is available for rapid processing, analysis and presentation through the user-friendly software packages.

The Opsis system has USEPA and TUV approval for criteria gases such as CO, NO2, O3 and benzene and has been used extensively for HF pot room and fenceline monitoring.

Gaseous Compounds

The Opsis systems monitor a range of gaseous compounds continuously.

Please, contact us for further information on the gases and specific applications.

Ecotech LV2000-DF HF Sampler

The Ecotech manufactured LV2000-DF Dual Filter Sampler has been designed  for capturing gaseous and acid-soluble air-borne particulate fluorides, including hydrogen fluoride (HF).

It also measures the volume of air sampled in accordance with the guidelines of the Australian Standard AS 3580.13.2-1991.

It is designed for outdoor use and operates from a mains-voltage AC power supply.
