Stack

For the most accurate measurement of an organisations contribution to air pollution stack or emmissions monitoring is required. Stack monitoring involves measuring gas concentration at the point of emission (stack).

These measurements can be coupled with ambient and background measurements to allow a better understanding of how emissions affect the local and broader environment. Stack emissions monitoring involves monitoring high concentrations of stack air such as CO, NOX, SO2 and others.

Stack gas air quality monitoring requires specially designed gas analyzers that are designed to mesaure high concentrations and can also be fitted with dilution equipment where necessary. Measurement of all gasses (SO2, NOX, CO, CO2) occurs in the ppm range, gas analyzers must be able to measure at these levels accurately.

Ecotech offer the following stack emission monitoring instruments:

EC9832 CO stack analyser

The EC9832 high concentration CO analyser is a specially designed carbon monoxide analyzer used to measure high levels of CO directly from the source.

co stack analyser ec9832

The EC9832 CO stack analyser combines microprocessor control with NDIR gas filter correlation photometry to provide accurate measurements of stack CO in the range of 0-200 ppm or to a range of 0-3000ppm with a detection limit of 1 ppm.

Features

  • Advanced materials in the gas filter wheel facilitates trouble free operation
  • Not affected by interference from H2O and/or CO2
  • CO concentration is automatically corrected for gas temperature and/or pressure changes
  • CO concentration can be displayed in units of parts per million (ppm) or milligrams per cubic metre (mg/m3).
  • External remote control of the stack CO analyzer (provides up to 100 channels of instrument operating parameters)

Ecotech supplies a wide range of mercury monitors for applications which include ambient air monitoring, process monitoring and emissions monitoring. We are distributors of mercury monitors from Opsis (Sweden), Arizona Instrument (USA) and Mercury Instruments (Germany).

Each company offers a unique solution designed to solve individual applications.

Mercury Emission Monitor

For continuous monitoring of mercury emissions, the Mercury Emission Monitor provides an ideal solution at power plants, waste incinerators or at any industry that requires continuous mercury measurement.

It is a completely “dry” system. It does not utilize any types of liquids in the process. It includes a thermocatalytic converter that transforms the oxidized forms, reactive gaseous mercury (RGM), to elementary mercury. In this mode a true measurement of total gaseous mercury (TGM) is provided.

The solution employs dilution extractive technology to extract a small sample of stack gas. Due to the small volume extracted, the sampling system can operate over extended periods of time with a minimum of maintenance required.

The diluted sample of stack gas is measured by a cold vapour atomic absorption spectrometer (CVAA) mercury instrument. The instrument is pre-concentrating the sample on a gold trap before the mercury vapour is measured in the spectrometer.

The pre-concentration function allows extremely low levels of mercury to be detected.
