Environmental Policy

Ecotech Pty Ltd is an independent, wholly Australian owned company, which specialises in the design, manufacture, supply, maintenance and operation of sophisticated environmental air and water monitoring equipment and systems.

We recognise the importance of the environment for the use and enjoyment of both current and future generations.

As such, we are all committed and involved in the role of implementing and maintaining an environmental management system certified to ISO 14001.

We ensure that our employees and contractors understand our environment policy and the significant environmental aspects of our activities.

Where appropriate, we make changes in our operations and continually strive to improve against our previous benchmarks.

We aim to reduce our environmental impact by:
  • Complying with applicable environmental legislation, regulations and other requirements
  • Continually improving our use of energy, water and raw materials
  • Avoiding, reducing or controlling the creation, emission or discharge of any type of pollutant or waste, in order to reduce adverse environmental impacts
  • Adopting the waste minimisation hierarchy of elimination, reduction, reuse and recycling wherever possible
  • Providing employees with environmental education, training and resources
  • Considering the social, economic and environmental expectations of our customers, contractors, shareholders, government and community

Environmental Management System

AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004

In order to demonstrate our commitment to the environment, Ecotech has set up a formal environmental management system according to the principles set out in AS/NZS ISO 14001:2004. We aim to minimise our environmental impact in our daily operations from product design, to manufacturing, final testing and sales, and we work to conserve energy and resources, reduce our waste, and recycle wherever possible. Our current strategy is to recycle paper, cardboard, cans, bottles, batteries, toner cartridges, aluminium and steel. In the future we will be looking towards a number of further recycling initiatives and waste management programs. In particular, we are investigating the recycling of computers and electrical equipment.


GREENFLEET

Greenfleet is an Australian organisation that will plant 17 native trees annually on your behalf to offset the greenhouse gases that your car produces in one year. Joining Greenfleet is just one of the ways Ecotech is trying to make a difference and reduce our impact on the environment. Our company vehicles have been signed up to the Greenfleet program, and we offer our staff the opportunity to sign up to the program with Ecotech contributing 50% of the joining fee cost. We are proud of the large number of our staff that have enthusiastically signed up to the Greenfleet program this year. A total of 30 vehicles have been signed up to the program offsetting a total of 129 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions, and helping to plant over 500 trees in areas stricken by land degradation.
